Oracle Networking
Architecture
Overview
This tutorial introduces the internals of
Oracle distributed database management. The student will be exposed
to Oracle's transparent network substrate conceptual background, and
understand how the Oracle listener process serves to allow connections
from a remote Oracle database. The student will also be exposed to
the use of the Oracle database links and understand how the SNMP
protocol can be used within the distributed environment.
This tutorial will also take a look at the
basic components of Oracle*Net and Net8 tuning, and the student will
understand how load balancing can be used in the distributed
environment in order to minimize network traffic while maximizing data
throughput.
This tutorial also examines Oracle scalability
options, and the student will understand how to build very large
distributed systems by using Oracle's technology.
