Chapter 1
Oracle Instance Internals Scripts
With DG_CONFIG, you can dynamically add database
to the Data Guard configuration while in maximum availability or
maximum protection mode without shutting down databases.
The following four parameters are related to
Automated Storage Management instance (ASM).
The instance_type
parameter
The instance_type parameter
specifies whether the instance is a database instance or an
Automated Storage Management instance.
Values:
The osm_diskgroups
parameter
The osm_diskgroups parameter specifies a list of names of disk groups to be mounted by
an Automated Storage Management instance at instance startup or when
an ALTER DISKGROUP ALL MOUNT statement is issued.
Automated Storage Management automatically adds
a disk group to this parameter when a disk group is successfully
mounted, and automatically removes the disk group when it is
dismounted (except for dismounts at instance shutdown).
The osm_diskstring
parameter
The osm_diskstring parameter specifies an operating system-dependent value used by
Automated Storage Management to limit the set of disks considered
for discovery.
The above is from the bestselling book
Mike Ault’s Oracle Internals Monitoring & Tuning Scripts.
It's only $49.95and you can download all the scripts immediately:
