Chapter 8 General Oracle Auditing

These small audit files are written to the default directory mentioned above and quickly fills up the ORACLE_HOME directory or file system, most likely without the express knowledge of the DBA. This should be carefully monitored. Files should be moved or simply deleted to make room in this very important filesystem.

Note: There is no equivalent system for writing audit records to a file system in Windows. The parameter audit_file_dest does not exist on the Windows platform. All the audit records go to the Event Log.

In the Windows environment, you would want to check the Event Log. These OS trails are recorded under Application Event Logs. One such log is shown in Figure 8.1.
